Worksop Wonders WI’s first meeting of the year will not just be welcoming 2023, but also be the group’s 11th birthday.
The meeting will be held at Thievesdale Community Centre on Wednesday 11th January at 7.00pm and the guest speaker is Mike Storr, who will be talking about ‘Music Hall Stars’.

Last year, 2022, proved to be an extremely successful year for Worksop Wonders. Membership grew and newly formed sub-groups such as book club, walking group and cinema / theatre groups have become established and very popular.

The approach to Christmas was a busy time for Worksop Wonders. Members went to Nottingham Playhouse and also to York Christmas Market. Angel decorations were made and displayed on the Christmas tree at the Priory Christmas Tree Festival.

They also made donations to the Food Bank and Christmas gifts to Women’s Aid.

The group have now planned the programme of events for 2023, containing a range of varied talks and activities to reflect the group’s vast range of interests. Something for everyone.

They will be hosting a Spring Fair on Saturday 11th March at Thievesdale Community Centre, for which they are already busy preparing items and planning activities. All will be welcome to attend, so note it down in your diary.

Membership of Worksop Wonders WI has grown and is now at the capacity the meeting venue. The group have now started a waiting list for membership and will offer places to ladies in order of their position on this list. The first visit remains free of charge and allows the opportunity to see if membership is for you. All new potential members must now contact the group before attending meetings via either the group’s Facebook or web page – www.facebook.com/realworksopwonders and www.worksopwonders.weebly.com.
