July saw new President Clive Tatley in the chair for Worksop Rotary. His first task was to award the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship to Geoff Lewis for outstanding service to Rotary.
Thirty members and guests met to listen to Richard Ilett give an interesting talk about the 1984 / 85 miners’ strike – the politics and policing.
On 23rd July Ken Thompson hosted a club barbecue / afternoon tea which was blessed with good weather, good food and good conversation.
A week later on 29th July, members joined Retford Rotary for a pleasant evening and a presentation by Sarah Dunning on the Bassetlaw Hospital Emergency Village Appeal.
Four applications for community funding have been granted and cheques will be presented soon.
