Voglia d’Italia (the Italian Society for South York’s and North Notts) invite you to their upcoming meetings:
The Pope’s Children: Lucrezia and Cesare Borgia
Friday 1st October at 7.30pm via Zoom
Dr Cristina Figueredo, tutor and lecturer with the Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of York, will explore the history and myth of Lucrezia and Cesare Borgia, their lives, achievements, and failures.
Chinoiserie and Orientalism in Sicily
Friday 5th November at 7.30pm via Zoom
Teresa Fazio-Gannon, freelance curator and tutor at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of York, in this illustrated talk, will take them through the rooms of the aristocratic palazzi of the Mediterranean island, where the Chinoiserie design developed in a rather unique style.
