The Café is open every Friday for a regular Coffee morning, 10.00am to 12.00pm, at The Crossing Church – and it is proving a popular stop-off point for shoppers and meeting point for friends.
The volunteer team will be on duty serving Fairtrade barista coffee and tea. Soft drinks are also available along with a variety of lovely homemade cakes and toasted teacakes – and their freshly made cheese scones are very popular!
There is now another coffee morning on Wednesdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm, where the volunteers will all be students and staff from the North Notts College Flex team. The students are learning barista skills and preparing for the world of work.
On Friday from 1.00pm to 4.00pm The Crossing offers a Friendship Tea – part of the Warm Spaces initiative. The Café space is open to anyone who needs warmth and fellowship, with games and activities available along with film showings – or just a space to sit and chat.
During the afternoon, hot drinks, cakes and sometimes sandwiches and savouries are served at no charge (although a donation can be left if you wish).
