Bassetlaw Triathlon Club, based at the YourPlace Leisure Centre in Worksop, is once again hosting its Sprint Triathlon event. It is taking place on Sunday 7th August.
Having returned last year after a forced absence due to Covid, the club is once again hoping for a big turnout of all abilities. In the past, the award-winning event has been the launch pad for many budding triathletes who used the user-friendly event as their first triathlon experience.
The event comprises a 400m pool swim, 25km cycle route out to the north of Worksop, through small villages before returning to the leisure centre, and a 5km run. The route is fully signed and marshalled by club members with their family and friends.
The triathlon, with main sponsors Perrys, NewFocus Photography and Richardson Chiropractic, finishes on the events field next to the leisure centre, providing plenty of space for spectators to cheer home the competitors. There will be some refreshment facilities available in the finishing area.
