As the summer break draws to a close, North Notts Chamber Choir members’ thoughts are again turning towards the annual Christmas Concert to be held in the chapel of Worksop College on Saturday 30th November. At the concert they will be joined by Worksop College Chapel Choir and accompanied by Mountgarret Concert Orchestra, all under the baton of musical director, Tim Uglow.
Leading up to the concert, the choir will be rehearsing every Tuesday at Mountgarret Rehearsal Room in the College, commencing on 10th September at 7.30pm. The pieces being rehearsed will be some of J S Bach’s greatest music, the Magnificat in D and his Advent cantata Wachet Auf. The concert will also include some Christmas favourites such as Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Vaughn Williams. There will be the opportunity for audience participation in other well-known favourites and carols.
