There seems recently to have been a focus on horses at Retford Inner Wheel. After their very successful horseracing-based Charter, the group enjoyed a speaker from Riding for the Disabled.
Members heard all about the wonderful horses, ponies (and volunteers) at the local group. Inner Wheel made from the club which was raised via coins in a Smartie Box. Some members are planning to sponsor a horse as well as visit the local RDA.
2024 is the centenary year of Inner Wheel and there are many local and national celebrations. One of these was a delicious afternoon tea and fashion show hosted by Warsop club at the Hostess Restaurant.
During the tea there was a fantastic fashion show presented by Notty Hornblower – founder of the Hope House Costume Museum in Derbyshire. The models looked fabulous as they modelled 100 years of stylish fashion.
Retford Inner Wheel has also been busy putting together more than 40 baby bundles, which will soon be on their way to The Gambia via NPAC, and President Carol recently presented a cheque to Bassetlaw Hospice of money raised.
There is a fundraising lunch and coffee mornings ahead – if you would like to attend any Inner Wheel events or meetings, email retfordiwc@gmail.com.
