On Tuesday 12th March, Downing Street opened its doors to host the annual Educational Champions Reception in recognition to those who have contributed above and beyond in our schools across the country.

A local headteacher, Matt Revill, from Woodsetts Primary School was privileged to be invited along to celebrate the progress and achievements made by his school.

The event was a chance to tour parliament, visit Number 10 and meet up with various MPs and official representatives from Government. It was chaired by the Minister for Education, Damion Hinds, who gave a speech on the vital work done in schools.

Mr Hinds spoke of the challenges facing the education sector and how he has been so impressed with how leaders have risen to these to ensure our children receive the very best. Guests were then given the opportunity to meet with him individually to discuss their schools, share successes and any difficulties they faced.

Matt was thrilled to be invited and said that it was great recognition for the whole staff team and community of Woodsetts who have worked so hard over the last few years to make the school into the great place it is.
