Musicians from Retford and from further afield will be out and about in the town on Tuesday 21st June to entertain everyone, all for free.
21st June is the first day of summer – and this year Retford will be making the most of post-pandemic freedom. Many people have been very cautious about braving the outside world over the last year but there will be plenty of space and fresh air in Market Square. There will be familiar and not so familiar tunes, plus dancing, all to bring a smile to your face.
Take along a friend or two, including those who find it difficult to get out, and don’t forget the young children, who love to see and hear the different instruments!
Retford Make Music Day is part of the world’s largest annual free music festival and there will be music during the day in the Market Square, Carolgate and Retford Library.
Taking part will be Rattlejag musicians, Gringley Wall of Sound, Dukes Dandy Step Clog, Retford u3a recorders, Borrowed Light music group, the Dukeries and Retford Ukulele groups, and others.
There will also be an evening pub music session at the Brew Shed.
Groups are very welcome to have a slot and join the celebrations, plus soloists and buskers.
