Worksop Photography Club
Worksop Photography Club is proud to announce they have been successful in winning the prestigious Sheffield Knock Out photographic competition.
The Worksop club was invited by the organisers, the Sheffield Photographic Society, to take part in their annual competition. The invite includes the leading 26 photographic clubs from Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire, and Lancashire. The judge was Christine Widdall MPAGB, EFIAP, FBPE. Christine is recognised as one of this country’s finest judges.
The competition is to find the best overall images. Each entrant club sends five images, giving a total of 130. The judge only sees the images on the night. The competition is called a ‘Knock Out’ because each image is assessed individually into a number of rounds and scored accordingly. In the first round 57 images were removed and each image scored one point. This process continued until round five, which consisted of the best five images out of 130 entered. Worksop had two images in this final round. These were an image titled ‘Sea Dog’ by Mark Clayton and the best image in the competition titled ‘Eden’ by Eileen Murray DPAGB EFIAP/b ABPE.
Visit the club’s website at www.worksopphotography.club for full details of where and when they meet. Members of the public are invited to join this friendly club which caters for all levels of photographic knowledge.
