Parkinson’s UK

by | 30 August 2019 | Support Group

The March meeting of the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK was well attended and again new members joined the group. Following the AGM chaired by Laura Bowey from Parkinson’s UK, members welcomed Lesley Drabble from The Citizen’s Advice Bureau who gave a very interesting and informative talk on their work.

The aim of the branch is to continue to extend the hand of friendship and support to everyone with Parkinson’s disease, firmly believing that no-one should be alone with the condition. Lasting friendships can be made and together and members can overcome some of the problems of Parkinson’s and demonstrate that a full and active life can be enjoyed.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 2.00pm at Worksop Cricket Club, Central Avenue S80 1EN, where new members can be assured of a warm welcome. The April meeting will welcome Mike Davies who will talk about ‘Historic houses and gardens of The National Trust’. For more information on any of the branch activities, including Pilates, swimming, pottery, computer tuition or the Sunday stroll round Langold Lake please contact Chris Coldwell on 01909 730629.
