Ollerton Library is located on Forest Road, next to the Post Office. It is open Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Regular events at Ollerton Library

Adult events

  • Crime Reading Group – Meets monthly to discuss the latest book and enjoy a friendly chat. Upcoming meetings: Tuesday 1st April and Tuesday 6th May.
  • Craft & Chat – Every Wednesday, 2.00pm to 4.00pm. A welcoming space for crafters of all levels. Take along a current project or start something new. All crafts welcome.
  • Ollerton Writers’ Group – Meets every other Saturday to share and improve writing. All genres, styles, and ages welcome. Upcoming meetings: Saturday 5th April and Saturday 19th April.
  • Job Club – Runs alternate Wednesdays at 2.30pm, offering support with CV writing, job applications, and online job searches. Upcoming sessions: Wednesday 9th April and Wednesday 23rd April.

Children’s events

  • Rhyme, Rattle and Roll – Every Friday at 2.00pm (term time only). A fun session of songs and rhymes for young children to develop vocabulary and coordination while meeting new friends.
  • Lego Club – Runs twice a week on Mondays, 4.00pm to 5.00pm, and Saturdays, 10.00am to 12.00pm.
  • Code Club – Every Saturday, 10.00am to 11.00am. For children aged nine to 13 to learn coding with Scratch and Python. To join, email sfepartnership@gmail.com.

Upcoming events at Ollerton Library

  • Easter holiday activities – Fun crafts and activities available throughout the school holidays.
  • St George’s Day Dragon – Help decorate the St George’s Day dragon, which will be part of the celebrations in Old Ollerton on Sunday 27th April.

Ollerton Then and Now Exhibition

The Ollerton Then and Now project explores how the area has changed over the years through historic photographs, maps, and artwork by local schoolchildren.

Exhibition dates: Tuesday 1st April – Tuesday 29th April at Ollerton Library

Contemporary photography of the area, inspired by images from the Inspire Picture Archive, has been captured by adults from the community working with professional photographer Neil Pledger. These photographs are displayed alongside artwork based on historical maps, created by local children in collaboration with visual artist Edwina Kung. The exhibition is free to view during library opening hours.
Celebration event: Saturday 5th April, 10.00am to 12.00pm

An official opening event for the Ollerton: Then & Now exhibition will take place, featuring additional heritage resources, including old photographs, historical maps, and more. Visitors are invited to explore how Ollerton has changed over time. This is a free event, and no booking is required—just drop in.
Artist workshop with Edwina Kung: Saturday 12th April, 10.00am to 12.00pm

A drop-in session for all ages to collaboratively create art maps inspired by historic local maps, exploring mark-making, layering, colour, and pattern. This free workshop is suitable for children and families—no booking required.

Dukeries Library

Dukeries Library is located inside the Dukeries Academy. Visitors should press the buzzer at the Whinney Lane entrance, and reception staff will provide access.
The library offers a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, spoken word, and large print books. Computers are available for free, with access to the internet, online resources, the library catalogue, and Microsoft Office applications.

Monday to Thursday: 8.30am–12.30pm, 1.00pm–4.00pm
Friday: 8.30am–12.30pm, 1.00pm–3.45pm
