It seems only recently that the Dukeries Community Band was performing outdoors at summer galas, and now the Christmas concert is almost upon them.
The Christmas-themed charity concert will be held on Saturday 7th December, starting at 7.30pm, at The Church of St Paulinus, Church Circle, Ollerton NG22 9SZ. Entry is £5.00 on the door (ages 13 and over); ages 12 and under enter free. Proceeds will be donated to local charities.
The Dukeries Community Band, along with special guests Just Voices, will perform a selection of popular Christmas pieces and carols. Audience participation in singing is voluntary but warmly encouraged.
The band is a community wind ensemble comprising brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. New players are welcome to attend any rehearsal to join in or just to listen – no audition required.
Rehearsals take place each Tuesday during term time at the Dukeries Academy, New Ollerton, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
The band’s concerts support the local community and charities, and they are always happy to hear from organisations interested in having them perform.
