Rotary Club of Sherwood Forest

In September, the Rotary Club of Sherwood Forest began meeting together as a group once again. Their annual programme of events has changed somewhat but they will continue to publish a regular report in order to keep everyone informed.
At their first meeting they were delighted to be able to honour Paul Prudence by presenting him with the Sherwood Forest Rotary Robin Hood Award. Paul has been a prominent member of the community throughout the recent pandemic and was nominated for his commitment to keeping many areas of our community litter free. Paul, and his wife Michelle, were the club’s guests at Ollerton House, where the award and a citation were presented to him in the presence of members of Sherwood Rotary and their guests.
On Saturday 4th September some of the club’s Rotarians were present at the opening of the Community Garden Project at St Paulinus. They were delighted to be able to support the work of John Pearson and his team during this project and congratulate all those who have been involved with the work associated with this wonderful project.
The club’s sponsored bike ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK has now finished and the final total raised is in excess of £4,500. Their thanks go to President Dave Dennis and Laura Dennis for organising this very successful event. They also extend their thanks to all those who took part or donated to this important charity.
