Christmas is almost here and it is Edwinstowe and the Dukeries Lions’ biggest fundraiser of the year. This money is a big chunk of their annual revenue and with this they can help so many people. They are already planning routes and getting helpers for Santa’s sleigh. They still need to get or get gifted chocolate Freddos to give to the children.
With rapidly expanding villages, the challenges are increasing to almost impossible proportions. But they will do it somehow, they always do.

What else have the Club been up to? They have donated money to local worthy causes, delivered community newspapers and picked loads of unwanted apples for distribution by Food Share. Tons of apples were picked by the Club in conjunction with Southwell Lions, and they were also joined by a group from Bilsthorpe Scouts. A real joint effort.
On the social side, the Lions went to Whitby for a weekend in memory of one of their oldest and dearest members, who passed away over a year ago. They took his widow who is still a member of the Club because it was their favourite holiday destination. A good time was had by all, especially tasting the world famous Whitby fish and chips.
