Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are pleased to announce that they have taken over the Parkgate Astro facility. A facility that they use extensively to deliver sessions to the community of Rotherham, currently they run projects such as MAN V FAT and walking football and local football teams are able to book out the facility for their evening training sessions during the winter months.
Not only did they take over the facility, the trust has given the facility a much-needed upgrade, with new exterior painting and signs, new LED floodlights, brand new goals, café and games room fitted with dart boards and a pool table. These upgrades show the trust’s commitment to providing quality sporting facilities and sessions to the Rotherham community.
Jamie Noble, the head of RUCST said: “It is a great step forward for us to have our own facility that staff and participants can call their own and grow alongside the trust. In just three years we have moved into the New York Stadium, built classrooms and expanded our education offer and now we have managed to open an outdoor facility which will help us expand both our football offer as well as many other inclusion and health activities. Thank you to the support of the Football Foundation, as well as many local businesses, who have not only helped swiftly with the requests but have given up their time to support many behind the scenes upgrades that have been necessary to operate from a high quality facility in the heart of the community.”
Rotherham United Community Sports Trust would like to thank all companies that have helped with the upgrades to the facility. Without their help this project wouldn’t have run as smoothly as it has and the facility wouldn’t have been upgraded to the quality as it has.
