Having had a very successful (and busy) start to the year, Tickhill Parish Room is now looking forward to spring with its lighter nights and warmer days.
In the Parish Room (complete with new floor) there is a wide variety of things to do, including crafting, drama, yoga, groups who love France and groups who love Italy.
The WI meets once a month, as do Tickhill Film Society and ACCORD, a self-help group for people with anxiety-related disorders. With any luck the Ukulele Group will be back soon as well, after a long absence due to COVID restrictions. Babies are catered for in a Baby Massage class and a Baby Yoga class – both of which are very popular. The new Slimming World classes are also proving very popular as we all try to improve ourselves with a healthier eating regime!
Every Saturday between 10.00am and 12.00pm, Noreen Sweed serves scones, toasted teacakes and hot cross buns.
Next on the agenda for the Parish Room is the Scarecrow Festival on 14th and 15th May. Entry forms will be available in the Parish Room and shops in the village. There will be a display of scarecrows outside the Parish Room and it will be open all day for hot drinks.
The next improvement to this lovely, Grade II listed building will be the delivery of what are known as ‘9-hour’ chairs, which are supposed to keep your bad back happy for up to nine hours!
