The December restrictions meant that Winthrop volunteers could not host the planned Christmas Tea for the lovely people who attend their Memory Café. So, volunteers did doorstep deliveries of ‘Christmas Teas in Boxes’ to them!
Councillor Sue Ellis, Chair of the Wickersley Parish Council, said: “Our volunteers were so disappointed not to be able to bring our lovely Memory Café friends together for the planned Christmas Tea – so doorstep deliveries became the order of the day and our little team filled the boxes and set off on their various journeys! Santa is so fortunate to have such wonderful helpers! And the Christmas Teas were so well received, it’s humbling to know the difference our volunteers have made with their small acts of kindness.”
