Mayflower Sanctuary, Bawtry

Spring finally looks as if it has sprung. The sun is wonderful to see, with lots of colourful bulbs popping their little heads up – everything is looking so much brighter. After the awful February, it is just what was needed at Mayflower Sanctuary, Bawtry.

The dogs, like the staff, are much more content sitting outside in the sunshine, watching the world go by. The kennel assistants are also much happier walking the residents in the sunshine, making for a much happier day altogether.

With astronomical electric bills, being able to dry things outside is a huge benefit, so let’s hope the good weather continues.
Currently, there are six-month-old puppies at the Sanctuary. They are crossbreeds and quite large but absolutely beautiful. Anyone considering adopting a puppy is encouraged to call and make an appointment to meet them.

Donations of clean blankets and towels, as well as food, poo bags, and large black bags, are always welcome and needed. Blankets and towels should be freshly washed, please. Kindly avoid bringing duvets, pillows, pillowcases, sheets, or any large items such as dog beds and crates, as there is no extra room to house these items at the moment. If possible, it would be greatly appreciated if any large items could be kept until space becomes available.

There are plenty of small, medium, and large dogs available to view at the Sanctuary. The knowledgeable kennel assistants will be able to match prospective owners with one of the dogs in their care.

Aron, the Cattery Manager, would also be happy to show any cats or kittens available for adoption. Anyone interested is encouraged to call for more information.

The fundraising ball is getting closer, and everyone is excited about it. Taking place on Friday 16th May at Mount Pleasant Hotel, the event will feature a live auction and raffle as well as a three-course meal with disco and dancing. The dress code is black tie and ballgown / cocktail dress and there will be a photographer to capture your special moments. Tickets, costing £65.00, can be booked by calling Mags on 07776 783242. A £10.00 deposit is required.
