The sea was nowhere near Newman School on Friday 21st June, but there were plenty of waves: waves of sheer delight as the pupils played in the sand and enjoyed the wide range of seaside activities, thoughtfully organised by the school staff. There were waves of good feeling and happiness as pupils, parents, teachers and carers mingled and interacted.
For most of the time, the sun shone and mid-morning ice cream helped to create a holiday feeling. Catherine Bridge, teacher and Rotarian kept a relaxed but careful eye on the proceedings. The other Rotarians present were, Trish Lister, Chris Croker, John Walton with daughter Clare and Phil Crutchley. Peter Short arrived just in time for the fish and chips!
