What a success 2022’s Rotherham Christmas Toy Appeal was; once again Rotherham people came together to provide gifts to open on Christmas morning for over 2,100 children and young people.
Without the support of local businesses, churches, schools, local libraries, councillors and members of the public, this could not have been achieved. In addition, the support from the Advertiser, Parkgate Shopping ‘Giving Trees’ and local radio station RB1 must be applauded.
The appeal is something of which everyone can be proud, because without public generosity it couldn’t happen. The need for such an appeal will always be there, but in the current social and economic climate such generosity is especially inspiring.
The gifts were provided to professionals of the most in need families within the Rotherham area; the professionals who support the families and know their circumstances, and were confident to put them forward for a gift that they wouldn’t have got to open on Christmas morning. Some of these are RMBC social care and early help, Red Cross, Refuge, Barnardo’s, Swinton Lock, REMA and many more.
Toy Appeal Co-ordinator Ann Levick would like to offer a very big thank you to everyone who helped and donated.
