Local artists are holding an Art Show in Braithwell on Friday 9th June at The Masters House from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
This is a new venture created and organised by two artists living in the village: Kath Boughton, who gained a Dip in Art and Design before gaining a place as a figure painter at Royal Worcester Porcelain, and Helen Waters, who has a BA in Art and Education from Leeds University and taught art as a career with the WEA in Rotherham and Wakefield. They have come together to promote an evening of original artwork which they hope will encourage painting as a hobby whilst displaying the work of very talented artists.
They believe art gives a feeling of achievement, being able to express work individually whilst giving a sense of wellbeing. Maybe the formation of a local social art group may develop from the show.
Local artists from the village will be exhibiting alongside High Green artists and there will be an opportunity to purchase an original piece of artwork at the event.
