The meeting of Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club on 20th August was a speaker meeting and was given by Steve Prosser of Rotherham Foodbank. The club has been supporting the Rotherham Foodbank during the COVID-19 pandemic. Steve thanked the club for this support, which had proved invaluable. read more

Redeveloped play area in Wickersley Park now ‘open for play’

The first phase of Wickersley Parish Council’s major redevelopment of Wickersley Park is now ‘open for play’.
Delayed by the COVID-19 lockdown, work was completed to get the new play area up and running in time for children to use and enjoy in the August school holidays. read more

News from Maltby St Barts

Life is slowly moving back to normal at Maltby St Barts. They are now able to have a Eucharist service at 10.45am most Sundays with the usual COVID-19 precautions – masks, social distancing, hand sanitising. The priest takes wine on behalf of the congregation but wafers are offered – hygienically – to all communicants. read more

As a result of the Government’s recent COVID-19 ‘Rule of Six’ relating to social gatherings and the indeterminate period it will be in force, unfortunately Les Francophiles de Tickhill is having to cancel the meeting on 7th October. It has also been decided not to hold any further meetings until 2021. read more

Young people getting back out on the road or starting life in an unfamiliar town or city are being offered a free driving refresher thanks to a new scheme. Road Ready has been launched by South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership (SYSRP) to give 17 to 24-year-old drivers the chance to enhance their skills. read more

Rotherham Christmas Toy Appeal

Rotherham’s Christmas Toy Appeal has run for many years. The gifts are donated by local residents, businesses, churches and schools. Due to the current situation, the appeal’s organisers need your help to match the achievements of last year when they helped over 1,700 children receive a gift on Christmas morning, something they would not have received if the Christmas Toy Appeal did not run. read more
