Ravenfield Ponds Angling Club is looking to recruit new members to fish its waters at Ravenfield Park from 1st April 2021. The club’s fishery is made up of six fishing lakes that contain tench, crucian carp, bream, ide, roach, rudd, perch, mirror carp and common carp. There are several car parks on site, toilets, and vehicular access is by key only, making it very safe car parking.
While three of the lakes hold a variety of predominantly silver fish there is also a lake that is devoted to specimen carp, with a limited number of night fishing permits available. A further pond is stocked with only tench, crucian carp and rudd while a sixth pond has a high stock density, holding a large number of small carp in addition to silver fish.
For anyone especially interested in match fishing, the club hosts one of the most extensive match programmes around with members-only competitions being held almost every week through both the summer and winter, both at the ponds and on local venues.
Membership is on an annual basis and is available from as little as £70.00 (less than half a pint of beer or bag of pellets per week). Members also have access to Baker’s Pond, stretches of the South Yorkshire Navigation and River Don and can take any youngster under the age of 16 years to fish free of charge.
