Vintage Afternoon Tea in a Box

2nd February 2021
Winthrop Gardens

Winthrop Gardens remains closed due to the COVID-19 emergency but they are delighted to be able to continue with their popular doorstep delivery of Vintage Afternoon Teas.
And of course – it could make a perfect Valentine’s Day Treat on Sunday 14th February – ‘Tea for Two’ and ‘Two for Tea’. And looking a bit further ahead – it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday 14th March – so one of their ‘Teas in a Box’ could make Mum’s day just that little bit more special!
Councillor Sue Ellis, Chair of the Wickersley Parish Council, said: “Over the last few months more and more people have enjoyed the treat of one of our Afternoon Teas in a Box. Many people enjoyed our Christmas Teas and we’re now delighted to be offered our ‘Vintage Afternoon Tea in a Box’ to bring a bit of a cheerful change for people as we go through Lockdown 3!
“Winthrop has really appreciated everyone’s support of this initiative! Although we’re not able to open to the public given all the safety concerns and Covid constraints, Winthrop is still incurring costs – repairs, maintenance and the costs of maintaining our lovely gardens – so the support of people buying and enjoying our Teas is so very much appreciated! Why not make ‘Eating for Winthrop’ your perfect Lockdown activity?”
Their ‘doorstep delivery service’ operates within a three mile radius of Wickersley and ‘Teas’ are delivered in individual boxes and comprise a selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones with jam and cream and sweet treats! Teas can be ordered – giving seven days notice where possible – by calling 07397 039226 or emailing The cost is £10.00 per person and advance payment in full by BACs, is required to confirm the order.
