Winthrop Gardens

Great news for Winthrop! The keys to the new Café were handed over just before Christmas, giving plenty of time for the volunteer team to get everything ready for re-opening on Tuesday 4th February.

Councillor John Barber, Chair of Wickersley Parish Council, who has led the Project Team, said: “It was just a year ago that we learned of our success in obtaining government funding of £264k and I’m delighted that in just 12 months our new Café is completed – great work by everyone involved. I’d really encourage people to come and visit us in our lovely new surroundings – our volunteers are, as ever, waiting to extend the warmest of welcomes to you all.”

Winthrop Memory Café

Held on the first and third Friday of the month, the Winthrop Memory Café has places available to welcome new guests and their carers. Why not become a Winthrop volunteer in 2025?

The start of Winthrop’s 2025 year in their new Café presents a great opportunity to join their friendly team of Café volunteers as they’re looking to grow the team in anticipation of a growth in customers!
They currently open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and most volunteers help on one or two mornings or afternoons every couple of weeks, on days / times to suit and fit around other commitments.

If you’re friendly, enjoy chatting with people, like team working and want to support this popular community organisation, then give Anna Chester a call on 07397 039226 or better still, pop down for a cuppa and see for yourself!
