What’s going on in Whiston this summer?

Whiston Parish Church Cricket Club invites you to its fantastic summer festival event, where there will be fun for all ages. Entry is, as ever, free to all attending.

The event will take place on Saturday 6th July from 1.00pm to 9.00pm. After a successful relocation in 2023, the event will again take place at the Whiston Parish Church Cricket Club fields. The event this year is being coordinated by the Cricket Club with support from the Event Foundry (Event Management Company).

There will be a stage offering a great range of entertainment including live bands, brass bands and community groups sharing their talent.

With some festival favourites of live music from local Rotherham bands (promoting local talent) such as Lazy Sundies, Keir, and The Rough Cuts, along with a return of brass bands for 2024.

There will be plenty on offer for younger people with bubble blowing, face painting, rides and some classic magicians and children’s entertainers.

There will be lots of stalls and food options and the site will be licensed to supply drinks and refreshments. It’s not too late to book a stall and this can be done by contacting The Event Foundry – helen@theeventfoundry.co.uk.

So why not dig out a picnic blanket or a camping chair, stroll up to the site and relax enjoy the view and the great entertainment, food and drink on offer? If you’re not so fit or need help, the Rotherham Community Transport free shuttle bus will be running all afternoon from near Sorrel Sykes and up Doles Lane from the village to the site.
