Rotherham Metro Ramblers Walks

Rotherham Metro Ramblers is a friendly and sociable local walking group that organises walks on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Walks range from five miles to about 10 miles, covering areas from local Rotherham routes to the Peak District, North Nottinghamshire, and East and West Yorkshire. The group also holds an annual coach ramble and an organised walking holiday.

Here is a summary of the walks scheduled for January 2025:

  • Wednesday 8th January: Worksop, the canal, Osberton Hall, and Scofton Church – 9.5 miles
  • Saturday 11th January: Annesley and Bagthorpe – 9.5 miles
  • Wednesday 15th January: Hooton Roberts circular, including Firsby Reservoir – 5 miles
  • Saturday 18th January: Gringley on the Hill, along the Cuckoo Way and Trent Valley Way – 9 miles
  • Wednesday 22nd January: Rotherham Ring Route Stage 1, Templeborough to Fence – 6 miles
  • Saturday 25th January:
    Option 1: Sturton le Steeple – 6.5 miles
    Option 2: Rambling around Ringinglow – 9 miles
  • Wednesday 29th January: Penistone, Hartcliffe Hill, and River Don – 9 miles
