Rotherham Christmas Toy Appeal

by | 13 December 2024 | Local Charity, Rother

The launch of this year’s 2024 Christmas Toy Appeal took place at Parkgate Shopping on 4th November. Stewart Nicholson from Rotherham Radio compered the evening, with Bruce Edwards sending a live broadcast to a large audience of Rotherham Radio listeners.

Coleridge school sang carols making it a very festive and a special start to the launch.

They were extremely lucky to have Miller Bear and two Rotherham United players Jack Holmes and Ben Hatton supporting the appeal along with Rotherham United Community Trust.

Voluntary Action Rotherham donated a massive £1,500.00 to the appeal and four local councillors from the Rawmarsh Ward pledged £600.00. What a massive start to the launch and a massive success to the evening.

And it didn’t rain! What more can you ask?

You can support the appeal by purchasing a gift and handing it into any shop at Parkgate Shopping or take a tag from the giving trees at Parkgate Shopping, purchase a gift and hand it in to any shop. The elves collect from the shops and take to the grotto ready to be packed and given to professionals making the request. Gifts can also be left at any RMBC Library, the Town Hall in Rotherham town centre, Voluntary Action Rotherham and Cox shop, Claypit Lane, Rawmarsh.

Many schools, businesses and churches are supporting the Appeal again this year, and organise their own collections.
