On 28th November Retford u3a held their Interest Group Showcase at The Well in Retford, an opportunity for their talented interest groups to share their interests and achievements with the 500+ u3a members and the general public. Their new singing group, poets and recorders group all performed, while works by their artists, photographers and creative writers were on display in the main hall. More than 100 attendees including members, non-members looking for new pastimes and friends helped make the Showcase a memorable success.
There is no General Meeting in December, but Retford u3a start the new year with a bang. On 17th January their first Big Night Out takes place at Retford Golf Club. The following week, on Thursday 23rd January, they are back at The Well to hear Clarborough’s Roy Evans describe ‘Life in Nottinghamshire’s Edwardian Villages’.
With over 500 active members, Retford’s u3a has never been more active and attractive to people who want to learn and keep active with friends and neighbours, and they are expecting an influx of new members in 2025.
