Retford Squash Club is experiencing a remarkable resurgence under new leadership, with a revitalised committee breathing life into the once-struggling establishment. Just months ago, the club faced uncertainty due to declining membership and financial challenges.

However, the arrival of directors Andy, Mike, and Nick has marked a turning point.

The committee has implemented innovative strategies, focusing on the myriad benefits of squash, such as improved cardiovascular health and stress relief. “Squash is not just a sport but a lifestyle that promotes wellbeing,” said director Andy. This renewed emphasis has attracted new members and re-engaged existing ones.

The club now boasts a competitive team in the Notts County Leagues, the first in over 20 years, led by captain Shaun Bradley, sponsored by Phase Architecture.

New member Charlotte shared how squash has helped her cope with personal loss, highlighting its positive impact on mental health. She also leads a women’s squash night, fostering community engagement.

Additionally, professional coach Ted McQueen has initiated regular junior coaching, ensuring the club’s future growth. With a range of events, tournaments, and social gatherings, Retford Squash Club is fostering a welcoming atmosphere for players of all levels.

The club is actively seeking new members. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, Retford Squash Club offers a supportive environment to improve your game and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. For more information, visit www.RetfordSquash.co.uk.
