Retford Musical Theatre Company (RMTC) is an amateur musical theatre group that has been running for 103 years and is well known for its professional quality productions. Following on from the huge success of ‘Kinky Boots’ in 2022, RMTC is excited to be bringing the musical comedy ‘The Addams Family’ to the Majestic Theatre from Thursday 27th to Saturday 29th April.
In the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams.
The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it is every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. If that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.
