Retford Lions Club

With the news that Charter Day will return on Monday 5th May this year, Retford Lions are preparing to play their usual part in the day. The yellow and red duck races will once again be a major attraction on the River Idle. The club is always grateful for the support of the public and local businesses and hopes for good weather on the day.

Easter baskets will be distributed throughout the area, offering a chance to win a beautifully filled basket of goodies. Everyone is encouraged to take part by choosing a square and helping to raise funds for local good causes.

At the beginning of the month, Lions members were collecting for the Marie Curie charity in Morrisons. The collection was highly successful, with a special boost when Paul Chuckle joined to support the fundraising efforts briefly. He was warmly welcomed by Lion President Maureen Lily, and his presence certainly lifted the occasion. Thanks are extended to Morrisons for hosting the collection.

Meanwhile, daffodils are now in full bloom around the town, bringing a welcome boost to morale as spring arrives.
