Retford Heritage Day

by | 6 September 2024 | Community Event, Heritage, Retford

Retford will be travelling back in time to the 18th century with a magnificent Stagecoach touring the town as part of the Retford Heritage Day event on Saturday 14th September, thanks to the kind sponsorship of North Notts BID.

For a ride on the Stagecoach on Saturday afternoon, find a lucky ticket at the Voluntary Organisations’ Showcase exhibition in Retford Town Hall Ballroom between 10.30am and 1.30pm. Organisations such as Retford GirlGuiding, Notts Army Cadet Force, Retford u3a and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice are just some of the groups who will be showing what they do to improve lives in our town.

St Swithun’s Church Bells will ring out at 10.00am, at which time Heritage Day will be officially opened by the Mayor, Councillor David Naylor outside the Town Hall, followed by singing with Retford Community Choir.

Leaflets, with a list of events and tours of Retford buildings not usually open to the public, will be available on the day at the Town Hall, and at the information stall outside Bassetlaw Museum.

You can also look out for these leaflets on the Retford Civic Society stall in Carolgate on Saturday 7th September, and start to plan your exciting free day out celebrating Retford Heritage Day on Saturday 14th September.
