The third of the monthly Retford Big Market Days takes place on Saturday 17th September.
The Farmers Market will be on Retford Market Square from 8.30am (some stalls start even earlier) until 1.00pm, and the Traditional Saturday Market is on from 8.30am until 2.30pm. Please don’t forget to look around the traditional market – you might be surprised at the value-for-money items available and the great service the friendly traders provide every week.
The Craft Market is open in the Buttermarket from 8.30am until 2.30pm and will now feature a café from September onwards. There are a number of initiatives being worked on to make your craft market even more exciting – if you are a new crafter, and would like to try your hand at the market, you can now take half a table for a special price – please contact the markets team at least a week before the event to give time for processing via selfservice.bassetlaw.gov.uk.

On Saturday 20th August, Retford Big Market Day was visited by the Vegetable Critters and the amazing Bonkers the Clown – juggling, balloon-modelling, and all this on a unicycle! Bonkers called in to say hello to a few of the stallholders and retailers in the town and they were very pleased to see him.

On Friday 30th September, Retford Business Forum presents Harworth Brass at Retford Town Hall in support of Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw and Bassetlaw Hospice. Doors open at 6.30pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm. There will be a bar, tea and coffee, and a raffle!
Harworth Brass are a friendly, non-competing, band who will be playing sounds from the musicals, film, Disney, pop, and the Proms. Whether you are a lover of brass bands, completely new to them, or just want to support the two charities, you will have a great evening and will be very welcome.
