Re-Engage

Are you, or someone you know, aged 75 or over and in need of companionship?

Re-engage is a national charity dedicated to ending loneliness and social isolation for older people in local communities by holding social gatherings for small groups of people.

Here in Retford, the charity holds a free tea party once a month on a Sunday afternoon in volunteers’ homes – usually a different host each month. Guests are collected by volunteer drivers, taken to the venue and returned safely home after enjoying light refreshments and a couple of hours in the company of others in the group.

If this sounds like something you or someone you know would enjoy, contact Re-engage to find out more on their freephone number 0800 716543, email info@reengage.org.uk or visit www.reengage.org.uk.
Alternatively speak to the Retford Area Tea Party Co-ordinator Judy Bradford on 01777 862830.

To ensure that tea parties can happen each month and that the guests can be driven to the venues, the charity needs both volunteer drivers and tea party hosts.

If you can give three or four hours of your time on the occasional Sunday afternoon and enjoy the company of people while sharing refreshments, perhaps you would consider volunteering for the group either as a host or a volunteer driver?

If you are interested in volunteering with this very worthwhile charity, get in touch on any of the contacts above.
