North Notts Local Group of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust

The North Notts Local Group of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has enjoyed some lovely activities through the summer – walks and visits to places of interest and all blessed with good weather! Very fortunate considering what a mix we’ve had!

There are still lots of outdoor activities available, many on the beautiful Idle Valley Nature Reserve and a lot of them led by very knowledgeable volunteers. All the information is available via regular email updates; you can sign up for them regardless of whether you are a member of the Wildlife Trust or not (details below).

The group’s autumn / winter programmes of talks starts on Thursday 12th September and the first one is by Kieron Huston of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Entomological Society. His talk is called ‘The Role of the Garden in Understanding and Conserving Insects’. It couldn’t be more important to discover what we can do to look after our dwindling insect population. So many people have noticed the scarcity of butterflies and bees this year. Let’s make sure we’re ready to give them as much help as we possibly can and hope for a better 2025!

All the talk meetings will be held at the Idle Valley Centre starting at 7.15pm, on the second Thursday of the month. It is £3.00 entry and this includes tea and biscuits. All welcome; no need to book.

If you haven’t already, why not sign up for email updates to ensure you get all the information about the North Notts Local Group’s talks and activities straight to your inbox? Don’t miss any of the excitement!
