Rehearsals are well under way for North Notts Chamber Choir’s Spring Concert on Sunday 24th March, 7.30pm, with the choir enjoying learning the contrasting works being performed. A recent successful Open Rehearsal evening was attended by several potential choir members and there was great interest in the music and in taking part in the concert.
The concert, to be held in the magnificent chapel at Worksop College, will be, in the first half, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, first performed at Easter in 1779.

The second half will be John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit, where the composer has taken seven familiar African-American spirituals and arranged them in his own particular way, setting them with four-part harmony and giving the first performance in 2016.
The choir, accompanied by the Mountgarret Orchestra, all under the baton of Musical Director, Tim Uglow, would be delighted if you could attend what promises to be an evening of musical contrasts.
