How did my mum know The Stone Black Witches are composed of Devil worshipers?
Maybe it’s because she read an article a few months back that stated Brian practices certain shamanic rituals while writing songs and rehearsing numbers. Or maybe it’s because she heard that a local church, believing them to be Satanists, ostracised them. Or maybe it’s because she discovered from a friend at work, that their live performances leave the audience with a feeling of elation quite otherworldly.
However, none of the above are evidence of Devil worship. Only evidence of paranoid gossip.
In fact, The Stone Black Witches are 60s / 70s rock revivalists that only seek to promote peace, love and a deeper understanding of our soul’s purpose on this plane of existence. The band features Brian James on guitar and vocals, Ryan French on tambourine and backing vocals, Quinn Kyle on bass and Jan Kowski on drums.
Like four ancient medicine men, the witches descended upon the Ye Olde Sun Inn on the eve of 2nd November to deliver the most cutting and memorable live show to happen in Retford since the Porterhouse was thriving in the 80s.
This rise in Retford’s vibration, that Stone Black Witches are contributing to, can certainly be felt with your ears pressed in the right place. Their next live performance will be held at The Ship Inn, Retford, at 8.00pm on Tuesday 31st December. With support from beloved local musician Andrew Cox and a DJ set of rock hits, a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
