A call to all golfers. On Thursday 22nd June, Retford Golf Club will be the venue for a very special Golf Day in aid of Bassetlaw Hospice. The four ball Stableford competition, which is open to both ladies and gents and teams, can be any combination (men’s handicap 28, and ladies’ 36), will be teeing off from 10.00am through to 2.00pm. read more
Looking back at my article a year ago, I find that once again we are bathed in glorious sunshine and even more importantly, Ash has been our Guide/Mentor/Musical Director for a year and is still as inspiring and enthusiastic as when he began with us. We enjoy our rehearsals under his leadership and choir practise generally goes with a swing (literally). We do enjoy some songs with a bit of syncopation! read more

Spring is here and Wheatley Bowls Club started the 2017 season at the beginning of April. We meet each Saturday at 1.45pm at the green next to the Village Hall for a friendly roll up with tea and biscuits. read more
The enthusiastic ‘self-help’ Wheatley Family Research Group meets in the Village Hall in North Wheatley on the second Wednesday of each month. The format of the meeting is that we start with a short presentation about an aspect of family history, research followed by some interesting discussion. read more
President of Retford Ladies Probus Club, Mylie West, welcomed 55 members, five new members and one guest to the April meeting, she then introduced Dave Newman to speak on ‘Life in the Victorian Garden’. read more
