Sitting in sweltering temperatures, (mercifully indoors) I can scarcely believe that Christmas is to be the main subject of my update! After The Dukeries Singers’ last two super concerts, one to celebrate our 40th anniversary and the second one at Milton Mausoleum, (there is a blog about these concerts you are able to access on our website, www.thedukeriessingers.com), the choir’s next focus will be preparations for our Christmas events.
We have had a break from our exertions and return to rehearsal full of vim and vigour on 29th August, complete with all our Christmas books, folders and music. We meet in the Concert Hall at the Dukeries Academy every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm. until 9.00pm. The venue is best accessed via the Leisure Centre and car park.
We have a number of Christmas engagements already planned, some of which simply need to be confirmed. From 1st September time hurtles at an alarming rate towards the festive season so if you wish to book the choir for your celebration, fundraising, or charity do, please contact our concert secretary Phil on 01623 822070.
