Rotherham u3a

Ask on the internet why anyone should visit England in February, and it’s said to offer ‘a delightful mix of tranquil adventure and cosy culture’. Although it’s one of the coldest months of the year, the English keep their spirits high by taking part in a wide range of events and activities.

While February’s festival and sporting calendars brim with entertainment opportunities, there’s a limit to what most can afford to spend on travel, hotels, and tickets to keep spirits high, especially so soon after Christmas.

On the other hand, Rotherham u3a (Ru3a) offers an excellent, affordable alternative for anyone who’s retired, working part-time, or currently unemployed. And not just for February!

Membership is reduced to £40.00 from January to 31st August, opening the door to joining as many of the 38 different groups as time, interests, and availability allow (nine groups currently have waiting lists). All venues are accessible, are on a bus route, and have parking facilities on site or nearby.

If proof is needed of its long-lasting success, Ru3a recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. With more than 400 members, it offers opportunities to meet new people and make friends who share similar interests and hobbies. In addition to learning and laughing together, members enjoy regular social events. It’s a guaranteed way to keep spirits high all year round.

At 2.00pm on Friday 21st February, at Broom Methodist Church, there will be a meeting for new members, prospective members, and anyone interested in finding out more about Ru3a. Why not go along, perhaps with a friend, neighbour, or relative, and see what it’s all about?
