Scunthorpe Hospital Players

Rehearsals are well underway for The Scunthorpe Hospital Players’ autumn production, Kindly Keep It Covered, a comedy by Dave Freeman. This fast-paced farce is certainly keeping the cast on their toes. Rehearsals are great fun, and the cast are progressing well with developing their characters, building up the pace, and mastering their lines and movements.

Adam Lee plays Roland, who runs a health farm with his wife Julia, portrayed by Rachel Tomlinson. The health farm was bought with the proceeds of a hefty insurance payout following the supposed demise of Julia’s first husband, Sidney. However, life takes a turn for Roland when Sidney, played by Liam Durkin, decides to resurrect himself and turns up at the farm just as Vanessa (Caroline Norden), the wife of Roland’s ex-boss from Kindly Mutual Insurance, checks in. Roland is desperate to keep Sidney’s resurrection a secret, leading to a series of misunderstandings.

An overbearing mother-in-law (Joanna Stothard), a police officer (Macy Parker), and a hungry client (John Hicks) complete the cast, with the play directed by Jan Gregory.

This hilarious comedy can be seen at The Plowright Theatre, Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, from Tuesday 3rd to Saturday 7th September, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £10.00, plus a booking fee, and can be obtained from the Box Office at 01724 296296 or online at www.scunthorpetheatres.co.uk and Ticketmaster.
