Scunthorpe Concert Society

Whatever your musical taste, anyone who has played in a band will know that it takes teamwork to make the dream work. Each instrument and instrumentalist has a role towards achieving harmonious synchronisation.

The French horn is the ‘bridge’ between woodwind and brasswind instruments due to its warm and velvet sound. It mediates between strings and winds to make itself essential for any orchestra. In the hands of Ben Goldscheider, this sound is magically captured and delivered with brilliance.

Nominated by the Barbican and Classic FM as a Rising Star, Ben has played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and at major concert halls including Wigmore Hall. Accompanied by Richard Uttley (piano) they will soon be performing live for The Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Concert Society, a registered charity that has been staging events for almost 80 years.

Noted for the integrity and breadth of his musicianship as soloist, chamber musician and recording artist, Richard has been recognised for his musical intelligence and pristine facility. Works will feature Beethoven, Schubert, Strauss and Debussy.

Tickets cost £18.00; children and students attend free with an accompanying adult. Join them on Friday 8th March, 7.30pm, at Outwood Academy Foxhills, Foxhills Road, Scunthorpe DN15 8LJ.

The theatre is spacious but comfortably accommodating. Make an evening of it as you will be warmly welcomed. Hot and cold refreshments are available to purchase. There’s also the chance of winning a distinctive raffle prize. For more details visit www.scunthorpe-concert-society.co.uk.
