Morton Ballroom Afternoon Tea Dance Group

by | 13 July 2024 | Dancing, Gainsborough, Hobbies

Following a break in May for organisational reasons, the Ballroom Afternoon Tea Dance in Morton Village Hall resumed on 20th June.

There was a good number of dancers in attendance, with the usual mid-dance refreshments. CD music for the ballroom Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep plus Latin dances of Rumba, Cha Cha and, occasionally, a Samba were played.

There were, in addition, a Sequence dance and an Old-Time dance in each half of the session. But the dances are not only about dancing, with much chat about what dancers have been doing in the previous months.

The Dances are held on the third Thursday of each month, starting at 2.00pm and finishing at 4.30pm, with a 25-minute interval for refreshments and a chat.

This is a friendly group which welcomes new dancers of all levels of ability. The venue is Morton Village Hall, Walkerith Road, Morton, Gainsborough. Tickets are £5.00 per person – but with occasional unannounced free dances for regular attendees. There is also a raffle with prizes donated by dancers.

The next two dates are 18th July and 19th September (no dance in August). The dancers look forward to welcoming you!
