Sadly, death comes to us all. No matter who we are or what we do, it’s the final act which we will all undertake. Guest speaker, Kate Cherrel from ‘Burials and Beyond’, will be addressing the Lea Women’s Institute on Thursday 7th November, 7.30pm at Lea Village Hall, DN21 5JA.
Kate’s talk will give a fascinating insight into the journey our bodies take following our departure from this plane. Whatever your religious beliefs, showing respect is paramount to affording the dignity we all deserve. At the formation of the Women’s Institute, its founders knew that success would ‘depend on the inclusion of women of all ranks’. The Institute played an important role in breaking down social barriers, with women from all walks of life working and learning together. Death acts in a similar way as none of us will ever escape its reach.
It would be worthwhile knowing more about what happens to us one day in the future, so go along and enjoy the moment with tea and cake. For more information on how the Women’s Institute can bring interest to your life, while you are still alive, contact Jackie Summers the.summers@btinternet.com.
