Kirton in Lindsey Town Council

Kirton in Lindsey Town Council has worked with the town’s civic and history organisation, the Kirton in Lindsey Society, and local graphic design company Spoon Media to develop and refresh tourism information for the town centre.

The town has a two-sided tourist information branded noticeboard, in the centre of the Market Place, which was sun damaged and becoming out-of-date. The Kirton in Lindsey Society provided information and some photos of places of interest in the town, including the several listed buildings.

Spoon Media then developed and enhanced a map previously printed in a local magazine to include more information and the locations of each of the places of interest. The design work to display photos and text descriptions around the map was the next stage before using local printing firm Allen Signs to put the information onto boards to go into the two sides of the noticeboard.

The completion of this work now provides visitors and residents alike with details of a variety of places of interest in the town and the means to find them when exploring the town. This includes the grand Victorian ‘castellated’ railway tunnel entrance, the former RAF Kirton in Lindsey site, the Old Infants School, former and current religious buildings as well as the 2021 sculpture Grandad’s Plough.

The Town Council is delighted to bring this information up-to-date and to work with local companies to achieve this.
