West Lindsey Green Spaces Forum is looking for volunteers to help measure the pathways of West Lindsey parks.
This one-off project will take place from 1st to 7th June, during Volunteers’ Week, and aims to help with the implementation of signs around the parks.
West Lindsey Green Spaces forum is an informal network of community organisations that meet every few months to share good practice, opportunities to work together and encourage local communities to get involved with local green space. The forum aims to use the event as an opportunity to get more people interested in park volunteering opportunities, and to encourage people to get active.
Jackie Applebee, from the Green Spaces Forum, said: “We’re hoping this project will help make volunteers more familiar with their local park and make people more aware of the benefits of walking in the park.”
For younger members of the community this type of short-term volunteering activity could help towards conservation or community badges for Uniformed and Duke of Edinburgh groups. If you’re interested in this micro-volunteering opportunity, which involves two minutes to two hours of one-off volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Centre on 01427 613470 or email westlindsey@voluntarycentreservices.org.uk.
