Citizens Advice Lindsey are currently looking for volunteer telephone advisers to join the team in Gainsborough.
Advisers help provide an effective and efficient advice service to members of the public and help influence government and other organisations by informing them of the effect of their actions on the lives of clients.
They are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least six months volunteering, and full training will be given.
Ron, a volunteer at Citizens Advice Lindsey said: “I started my volunteering to give something back to the local community I live and work in. One of the best things about helping clients is the feeling of achievement for myself and the client when I can advise them when they don’t know where to turn. I wish that I had volunteered sooner.”
Jenny Barnett, CEO at Citizens Advice Lindsey said: “Thanks to our amazing volunteers we are able to continue making a huge difference to people’s lives. Our volunteers give up their time for free to help people who may be going through problems to get back on their feet.
“Volunteering also brings its own rewards and is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. If you can spare at least one day each week, we’d love to hear from you.”
Nationally Citizens Advice relies on over 21,000 volunteers who help provide support in locations across England and Wales – helping over 2.8 million people in the past year.
Thanks to the contribution volunteers play in local Citizens Advice, two out of every three clients have their problem solved and four out of five say the advice received improved their lives.
