January marks the start of a new year, and gardeners will be busy preparing for the upcoming growing season. Beckingham and District Gardeners’ Club is hoping 2025 brings better weather than 2024!
The club’s speaker season begins on Monday 17th February at 7.30pm with Sarah Hackney, an experienced willow worker. Sarah will demonstrate the art of willow crafting and guide members in creating a dragonfly sculpture, a unique piece to adorn their gardens. Sarah is renowned for her exquisite willow garden sculptures.
On Monday 17th March, Neil Timms will be the guest speaker, presenting ‘Over the Fence’. His talk will explore the value of wildflowers, which many gardeners cultivate intentionally, and delve into tales of cultivated plants that find their way into the wild.
Non-members interested in attending are welcome to join any meeting. Visitors are charged £4.00 per meeting, while annual membership is £15.00 per person or £20.00 per family, including refreshments. Meetings are held at Beckingham Recreation Room, starting at 7.30pm.
If you have an interest in gardening, the environment, or related topics, why not attend? The club is small and friendly, and visitors or new members are assured of a warm welcome.
